closed. We still have power but lost our heat for a few hours last

Maureen,
We saw your miseries on TV last night. Our NYS northern border also has power
outages. The forecast for me was rain divided at some point in northern New
York to freezing rain, etc. I wondered all day yesterday if we were going to
be south of the freeze.
We have just cold rain freezing up only at night. Montreal has huge problems
and helper trucks (tree trimmers and lineman) from all over New York. This a
major event for which I extend sympathy to our Canadian neighbors.
This past October we commemorated the l0 year anniversary of of our October 87
disaster. We had about a foot of peculiar heavy wet snow fall on the trees
still in leaf. The trees fell and broke apart all over the area. You could
go outside and hear the limbs cracking. Cars had to be moved free of treed
areas. I lived in the City of Albany at time time and was two doors from a
hospital so had power. All of my neighbors had lines from my cellar to their
houses for heat and a few lights. Albany (or parts of it) was dark one week.
You will remember this for along time.
