I'm not Sylvia, but will put in my 2 cents worth. All Nicotiana, species
& cultivars, waft their scent most heavily after the sun goes down & are
great attractors of Hawk Moths (or Hummingbird Moths as I've always
called them because their wing-speed makes the same sound & they're
about the same size.) And there are several Evening Primroses (Oenothera
ssp.) whose flowers open in the late afternoon/early evening & fade
sometime the next morning.
