Lloyd,
Since I have been living here only since the end of September, it is
still way too early to know the long-term survival of this or any other
plant. Fort Pierce is in flat, swamp land over two full degrees of
latitude further south.
I am in an area of rolling hills. Actually, I am in a bit of a frost
pocket, so this could actually help. I will keep you all posted on how
this and other Irises live (or rot) here.
