OT: Neomarica culture note.

Dennis and all,
Neomaricas and Trimezias that are outdoors all year can take full sun
and grow well in such a location. When I made my statement about
protecting them from mid-day sun, I was thinking of those that have to take
the plants back inside for the winter.
When I lived in Kentucky, I once made the mistake of putting one of
these in full sun. It fried severely, but it recovered. The plant was not
properly hardened off. I think it is better to avoid acclimating the plant
to full sun outdoors, then having to yank it back inside in the fall. That
is a bit traumatic on a Neomarica, or any other plant.
