Evelyn was a wonderful talented iris breeder whose artistic eye and sense
of beauty will be greatly missed by all iris growers the world over. She
never made many crosses per year or introductions, but one could almost be
positive that the name Kegerise and quality were synonymous.
I too, got to spend several hours in her garden during bloom season the
last two years and thoroughly enjoyed her hospitality and comments on what
she thought was good and why not.
There were several seedlings coming along for possible introduction, some
lots better than anything on the market. I can only hope that some of
these make it. And I can feel very proud of the rhizome of one of these
that I was sent home with.
Farewell to a wonderful irisarian!
