Re: OT:Apology

OK--I had resolved not to get involved in this OT mess but just to lie low
for a while.

HOWEVER--the fact that John Jones felt he had to apologize for a reasoned,
calm and firm response to a crude insult has me fired up! Thunder and
lightning, all John did to begin with was to provide a courteous, gentle
reminder of some of the rules we all live under on the list. This was not
a "flame" as some interpreted it, nor did it suggest that some OT posts (in
which we all participate) are not valuable. In John's subsequent message,
he clarified his position very well, and maintained his cool.

In any of our subsequent exchanges about OT posts or any other subject, can
we please refrain from the snide paragraph and the coarse remark? I find
these more offensive than any possible complaints about the large
percentage of off-topic postings, personal messages and me-toos.

Apology not accepted here, John--because it is not needed.
