John, Steve and Sharlyn,
I had some Agronomy classes at the University of Kentucky, but I am
not an expert. They taught us that trace elements are unpredictable. If
present in amounts too small, the plants suffer from nutrient deficiencies.
In amounts too large, they can be toxic. This can be affected by soil pH.
The symptoms of nutrient problems can look much like a disease problem.
Before anyone (unless they are experienced with soil nutrients) starts
adding trace elements to the soil, I would recommend that they get a soil
test. This will show how much of what they will need to add.
