Duane,
ROOTS is the journal of the Historic Iris Preservation Society, that
"section", or special interest group affiliated with AIS which is concerned
with Iris cultivars more than thirty years old, and with historically
important species. Our mission includes preservation of these irises, and
artifacts and documents about them and their history, whether scientific,
commercial, anecdotal, or lyrical, for future needs.
HIPS members receive ROOTS twice a year. It typically presents a variety of
articles on issues of interest, as well as information about HIPS
publications, and information on where to obtain older cultivars. Membership
is five dollars a year.
As have recently posted membership information I shall not do so again. Anyone
who needs this information is invited to contact me directly.
