Leslie,
To the best of my knowledge, the Iris Borer is present in Kansas and
Texas. New Mexico is another situation, however, but care should be taken
to keep from giving this pest to them. I don't know if the Clorox Water
would kill them or not. I hope someone more experienced has something to
say on this.
This is not the same Borer that gets on Lilacs.
