Regarding the new RVP in Region V. , Randall Bowen. He is currently
president of
the Piedmont affiliate in Spartanburg, SC. He has been active in this
affiliate along
with his wife, Pat, about ten years. He lives just across the border in North
Carolina.
His brother, Steve Smart, lives in Spartanburg, SC. We in Region V feel very
fortunate to have Randall and Pat with us in Region V.
The appointed Nominating Committee had a difficult time and Randall agreed to
accept this responsibility if approved. It was approved and we feel
fortunate.
Randall and Pat have attended the national conventions for at least five
years.
They have a commercial garden and and share many iris with us for our sales.
Incidentally he is also the co-chairman for the National Convention being held
in 2004 by Region V along with our past RVP Marshall Goforth.
Just thougt a past RVP from Region V should comment on this.
Claire Honkanen, Isle of Palms, SC. Region V Zone 8 and 60degrees today, cool
nights though.
