Sharron, your visit to gardens in Vancouver should include Queen
Elizabeth and Van Dusen, especially the latter, right in the centre of
town between the airport and downtown. Also the University of British
Columbia Botanic Garden, which is only about 20 minutes away on the tip
of Point Grey.
On Saltspring Island, there is a nursery that grows arils, etc. At this
time of the morning, I can not think of its name.
Ian, in cold Ottawa where he planning flights to British Columbia.
