I have not seen humming birds around here (Kansas) but last spring orioles
were in my garden. They can really tear apart an iris quickly !!!! Looking
for nectar I assume. They were attracted to plicatas and the bright yellows
& pinks. I also have learned to keep bird feeders away from the garden
because of the hulls left behind, also I have enough weeding to do without
bird seed sprouting.
