Hi Edwina, and welcome to the iris-talk list. I have been trying to find the
postal address of the British iris society for you, but have so far been
unsuccessful. The only address I could find was from the back of Graeme
Grosvenor's book 'Growing Irises' and that is dated 1984.
Perhaps someone on the list could help? If not, I will be in touch with
someone later in the week who might help us both, as I intend to join.
Living in the UK, you have the advantage of not having to change currency,
or allow extra for postage.
My friend in Melbourne has grown many wonderful and unusual plants from seed
sent from the BIS. She is also gets a catalogue from Wisley each yerar, and
they have seed from many exotic, and rare plants, including a few irises,
and irids.
If you are specifically looking for seed from modern hybrid irises, I
usually have some spare from crosses made in the Spring (bearded irises in
particular), as do many people on this list.
Cheers, Jan Clark, Australia
