I started growing this plant from a handful of seeds I obtained in spring
of 1999 from someone on the list (Christy?). Last year two of the plants
bloomed, one orangey-red, the other orangey-yellow. This year all the
plants are sending up stalks. Some of them have started blooming and they
are all in the orangey category. One stalk has buds that appear to be dark
blue or purple. This is a surprise because I thought this plant only came
in shades of orange/red/yellow. When it blooms in a few days I will be
sure to post some photos here.
I was so enamoured with this July blooming iris that I ordered seeds from
SIGNA of Belamcanda flabella (or something like that, flavula?) which are
supposed to have bright yellow flowers. But I'll be darned if I can
remember where I planted them, LOL!
