Howdy neighbor.

I grew a bunch of iris seeds in pots. I didn't bother to put any gravel in
the bottom. I don't think it would matter much with pots as large as yours.

>2.Our soil is clay(mediam not pure clay).Should I add sand to lighten it?

Probably not necessary. Irises don't seem to be terribly finicky about
their soil. Of course really heavy pots are difficult to lug around, so
you might want to take that into consideration.

>3.Is there any thig else I should add?

Nope.

>4.Do you fertilize the pots?

Nope. You might want to give them light fertilizer a few months after they
germinate, but they certainly don't need it beforehand.

>5.Should they be keep wet or dry over the winter?

My recommendation is to plant them out in late November or December. Just
set them outside and let them have whatever rain/water/snow/ice falls. You
don't want to plant them out before then because if they germinate
prematurely then they'll die during the first freeze. Also, by planting
them out so late in the year the squirrels won't be trying to bury their
acorns in there!
