Hi Linda,
Here where shade at least for a bit of the day gives the plants a break
from the broiling sun, I actually have found that several do o.k. in partial
shade...Mary Frances is one of them...although she took two years to
establish. AFTERNOON DELIGHT, YAQUINA BLUE and DASHING also bloomed well
even though they were in a partial shade end of the bed. Conversely,
NAVAHO JEWEL should've bloomed like a son-of-a-gun and it bloomed sparsely
and the flowers faded in the sun, although it increased really well.
I don't know what the "generic purple" that everyone has is called but it
also tolerates a fair amount of shade.
