Thanks Steve, but this only makes me more convinced that this information is 
relatively useless. I'm in the green zone, right down the lower right. 
Central Australia (Alic Springs, etc) is also in the green zone, infact, 
most of the continent is.
They mention that there are so many other factors that contribute to 
differences (altitude, proximity to the sea, etc) This doesn't even take 
into account microclimates.
I don't see this zoning system as being particularly helpful when trying to 
draw paralles between someone elses garden and my own.
I suppose it is much more relevant in the U.S. when you are comparing say, 
Colorado, with Florida, but comparing a zone 8 with a zone 9 is rather 
futile, unless you know a whole lot more details about individual gardens.
