Jerome, LA's can take the lime soil you have if you will add acid
food or soil sulphur. For spiders, I would like to recommend the
best spider of all. It is called BLACK WIDOW. Kevin Vaughn, who
is on the Louisiana talk group (LAIRIS) has another spider called
ARACHNEPHOBIA. It is out of BW.
And, if you are looking for a spider daylily, see if you can find
CAT'S CRADLE. I have some children from it which are taller and
even more spidery, some of which rebloom. I have never had CC to
rebloom. Some of CC's children have the sepals scroll back, which
is a feature I really like. It seems like these petals have been
scrolled in the manner of somebody taking scissors to ribbons and
thereby creating the scrolled effect. Some more spider daylilies
are DUSTY SPIDER, RED TWISTER, SLAPSTICK and PINK
SUPER SPIDER. CANARY FEATHERS is a favorite 'laced' daylily
I grow.
Tell us more about your garden, and we can make more
suggestions. There are lots of people who can help.
