CULT: Feeding Louisiana's

Thank you Walter - you have just answered the question I was going to ask
today.
I transplanted several small clumps of LI's yesterday, to an area where i
had removed some TB's to pots. I am trying to dress up the garden, in order
to sell the house, and the LI's look rather smart where they are now, and
should bloom this season.
I had plenty to spare, as the increase on these was enormous this year, and
I only want to take 2 or 3 rhizomes with me, when I shift.
The place I moved them too has a reasonable depth of soil, but has had a
feed of lime about 8 months ago. I shall break out the camelia food today
and dig a little in, around each plant.
I am planning on mulching this area with pea straw - should I put a mulch of
well rotted cow manure around the LI's (under the straw)?
I know I am taking the risk of preparing the garden for someone who may not
even care about it, but I do believe that a nice looking garden appeals even
to non gardeners (perhaps more so). They can discover at their leisure
(after they buy the house), that it takes work to keep it that way :-0
Cheers, Jan Clark
