Hello Paul,
Several on the following list are aril species. How old are the seeds?
Recently on the ARILROBIN list, Harald Mathes said how viable seeds remain
depend somewhat on the storage, but their shelf life as a viable seed has
been exaggerated. It never hurts to try if you have the seeds, but probably
expectations of success should be lowered as the length of time in storage
increases.
I grew and bloomed I. jordana last year. Lowell Baumunk posted a photo to
Iris-Photos of the results if you want to go there and check it out. It
remains to be seen how long I'll manage to keep it alive as last year was
the first one here. I'm having variable success with the pure arils, so I'm
not going to give advice.

The following was found in Kohlein's 'IRIS'. I know this book is sometimes
controversial, but this is a start and what I could find. If what is there
is agreeable, go ahead and contact me off list and I'll give you any details
he provides, but following is a brief tag-line concerning those he lists.
Anyway, hopefully by now you have received more direct input on these.
>
>Iris mandshurica - aril species (regelia) and according to Kohlein, very
rare and hard to obtain. Natural range penetrates far into Manchuria, to
Korea and norther China
>Iris thunbergii - couldn't find in Kohlein
>Iris sogdiana - a spuria
>Iris haynii - aril species (onco)
>Iris jordana - aril species (onco)
>Iris stolonifera - aril species (regelia)
>Iris koreana - apogon. Natural habitat in moist locations in Korea, yellow
blossoms, and often confused with I. sibirica var. koreana according to
Kohlein.
>Iris latifolia - could this be I. latifolium maybe?
>Iris caucasica - a Juno, synonym for Juno linifolia var. linifolia. Also a
synonym for Juno magnifica as I. caucasica var. major. Also a synonym for
Juno orchioides as I. caucasica var. oculata Also a synonym for Juno
fosteriana as I. caucasica var. bicolor. Also a synonym for Juno caucasica
as I. caucasica
>Iris sikkimensis - according to Kohlein, a pseudoregelia that may be a
natural hybrid between I. hookeriana and I. kamaonensis.
>Iris aucheri - a Juno
>Iris magnifica - a Juno
