HUCKLEBERRY FUDGE was about the first iris to bloom this spring and has
a bee pod on it. July 5, 2001 it started reblooming with five blooms on
the stalk. The blooms are very large, just as the spring blooms were.
It is lovely! We had a cooler than usual spring and it has just gotten
quite warm in July. Our last rain was ten days ago. We may not have
any more till some time in August. My soil is sandy and the iris are in
rows with lilies. The lilies were planted last fall and this spring
with a pellet of lily fertilizer added to each planting hole so I
suspect the iris are enjoying a bit of food from the pellets as well.
Huckleberry Fudge is one of our club's guest iris and I am so happy that
we chose that one.
