If you're concerned about keeping the daylillies in their place, you
can cut the bottom out of some old nursery pots (the huge ones) and
plant inside them. I never have any invasion problems because I eat
the excess ones as shoots in early spring. Just cook them like you
would asparagus, after trimming the leaves. All parts of daylillies
are edible, and the buds are an oriental delicacy.
