OT: Containing Daylillies

I've never tried spent blooms.  Can't see that it would hurt to try 
them though.  If they are about as good as the buds, you could have 
your cake & eat it too!  Let me know if you try them.  Personally, I 
like them floured & fried like mushrooms (buds that is).

Yes, you got it!  I'm admittedly prone to ellyptical references that 
tend to date me.  Hasn't he been dead at least ten years?  No 
experience with sandy soil.  My daylillies go where its too wet for 
iris.
