Having been at the last 8-9 AIS Spring Board Meetings and 8-9 Fall AIS Board
Meetings--I have been following the discussions about the Electronic
Checklist--- Since the start of the discussions, the AIS Board has somewhat
changed their mind about the usage of the Electronic Checklist--there have
been several different discussions about what to have on it, should persons
pay for it, and the effect it would have on the paper checklists.
According to my notes taken at the AIS Board Meeting--AIS will have the
information available electronically--and will also continue to publish the
yearly R&I's and the 10 year checklists--they both contain information not
available on the Electronic Checklists--
there was considerable discussion about charging for the Electronic
Checklist--once it has a complete listing of all Irises from the past---
And either I made the motion--or seconded a motion--to have a nominal yearly
charge ---somebody has to pay something for it--and John should not be
expected to pay for it himself!!!!!
I use it quite frequently--to look up the date of registration or
introduction--then go to the paper copy for the full description--and many
others use it this way also--
If you feel that the Checklist should be available on a CD--send a letter to
your RVP or to Clarence--and then it should be brought up at the next AIS
Board Meeting for discussion--
