TB: ordering online (Schreiners, etc.)

Pat - I live in a different climate so will keep mum about weather and
planting. We have to plant our iris in July and the first part of August
so they will be well-rooted before our first frost which comes in Sept.
(or in Aug. - we were down to 46 degrees F. last night). All my new
bearded are in the ground and I planted later this year.

I ordered from Schreiners for the first time this year and of course
ordered a 'special' (older irises) but those yam size rhizomes didn't 
beat the ones I get from the smaller growers like Superstition Gardens in
CA..they sent me intros. as "extras". Lowell Baumaunk of Iris Colorado is
another one that has wonderful iris and sends mucho 'extras' and don't
forget our Walter Moores in MS. Your kind of climate. His do great up here
in Zone 3! Loleta Powell of North Carlolina's SEEKING ('98 - light blue TB
with a darker blue border) was one of my favs this year.  It was a late
bloomer and bloomed for a long time. So don't bypass the smaller
specialized nurseries...they have new treasures at a fair price. *And Iris
