I don't know the plant at all, but reading that description it could narrow
it down to basic colour, but if there were two plants that were similar but
not identical how would it help differentiate them? Blend of brown and
gold is pretty vague, and what exactly is brown-maroon? What degree of
ruffling?
I have had plants that are similar, that would have the same description
I'd hazard if they were boiled down to their basic "one line". They are
clearly not the same plant, and anyone owning one of them would know if
they saw the other one that it was not the same, thereby saying that such
and such WAS or WASN'T the correct plant.
I suppose I'm just pointing out that the "Mystery Solved" comment is
perhaps a bit premature. Thinking back I probably have owned in the past
something that would fit the above description, definitely not KILT LILT
though.
Myself I find description very frustrating, but realise they are necessary.
They however only tell you if something ISN'T a particulary variety if iit
is way off, not if it is close but not quite the same (such as slightly
different shading or colouration). I know that "modern" descriptions are
far more detailed and that can be a help, although the use of some of the
colour names now-a-days makes for more confusion than clarity <grin>.
Unless someone has a confirmed plant that they can take a flower of to
physically compare (or take a picture that they are confident is colour
accurate) the mysetery is still there.
