TB: Edith Wolford and New Cool

Eleanor,

I shook my shovel menacingly at my Edith Wolford last fall and she bloomed quite well for me this spring. Hmmm......and who says talking to (shouting at) them doesn't work?

As for TB's in the north country, I've been trying out some of the new ones with a Darwinian attitude. Like Laurie I lost quite a few of them to rot even though they were in raised beds, and I won't bother to replace them since we had a rather mild winter this year. One of the winning TB's in my north woods garden this year was New Cool. I've posted a photo at Iris Photos. I'll be trying a bunch of historics this year, with 13 new varieties on order.

Well, I couldn't find the pic of the nursery, so I'll send a pic of TB Edith
Wolford, who actually listened and bloomed this year!
