Perhaps the participation problem is due to a symposium problem. I will not
vote for a flower unless I would want it in my own garden, and it has at
least average garden habits. Most of my favorite iris aren't even on the
symposium; although I recognize most of the names. I saw five I would
recommend this year; only one or two in my top ten. I don't want to bother;
if I can't even recommend/vote for the iris I love (write-in?), why waste my
time selecting second tier vs. third tier iris?
