Re: OT-Plants: Daylilies


It, rust, is more in the south right now, even below me, say Texas for one
state. IT looks like a fungus spot and turns rusty in color and it will come
off on your hand when you rub across it, like powder or snuff! Thank
goodness I do not have it here! Nuseries or mail orders are required to
inform their customers if they have it in their gardens. I know I was
viewing a site on daylilies and she had posted a long article about it,
saying that she had it and told all the precautions she was taking and the
procedures for hopeful cure that were required by the inspection folk. It
was a ordeal for her and I felt sorry for her but certainly would not order
from there. Just can't take the chance , I have over 150 different varieties
of them in my daylily gardens. Close to the Iris population here, LOL! So
far everything is healthy. Except maybe me, I stay bent over and stooped
down so long that Mr Arthur is sure to move his whole family in soon...
