RE: Cult-Overfertilization

I've just been catching up on e-mail so perhaps this has already been addressed.
Every year I get inquiries re iris plants not blooming and usually about one a year an inquiry from a nursary owner about lush strong growing iris plants that don't bloom. Upon inquiry I find out that they have heavily enriched the soil with manure.the plants are very happy and grow strongly, but don't bloom.
For my money (2 cents worth) overfertilization can cause lack of bloom. It may be different in different climates.
