Hello All:
I am sorry to report that Dr. Ed Ostheimer, a long time leader of the
Society for Louisiana Irises, has died in an automobile accident. He was
driving alone in his hometown of Schriever, La. during a thunderstorm when
his vehicle left the road and he drowned in a roadside body of water.
Ed's wife, Rusty Ostheimer, was in Alabama at the time on family matters.
The funeral is Friday morning, with visitation commencing at 7 a.m. and the
service at 10 a.m.--at St. Matthew's Church on Barrow Street in Houma, La.
I am sure all of you join me in sending condolences and best wishes to
Rusty and the other members of the family.
