I think it's a escapee pet. More likely a iguana. Looks nothing like a alligator and a lot faster than one. I have heard they like to eat tomatoes. Wish they like squirrels. Also having phone problems from squirrel damage to lines.
Found new competition for the tomatoes, one of those big green caterpillars.

Mike! WHAT kind of green lizard would be in Ohio???? Could it be someone's
pet alligator on the loose? Or is it a joke? I've never heard of a lizard
in this part of the country anywhere near that size! I have heard of crows
or carting off rhizomes - even had it happen to me. I would really be
