I'm not a judge and am from an area where the current timeline for a ballot
would not be a struggle to since bloom here is so much earlier, but have
followed this thread with interest.

This is indisputably the truth. If HMs, AMs and awards are to have meaning
and merit for the whole iris-growing community, they must encompass the
entire growing geography of that community. If not, then regional awards
would serve the purpose much better.
