OT-BIO Richard Copa

I live in Shreveport, Louisiana  We moved into a old house 5 years ago there 
are Iris beds in the yard that have been there since the 40s.  They have been 
mowed down every year but this year and have not been worked.  This year I 
weeded and fertilized but no flowers.  What do I need to do?
