Good chance they didn't bloom because they were mowed down last year.
Another possible cause could be overcrowding, since they were established beds. This
can also lead to nutrients being depleted from the soil. Irises should be
dug and replanted every 3 to 5 years. Either replenish nutrients in the soil
and replace or move to a new spot that hasn't grown irises. Too much shade
could also inhibit bloom. They require 5 to 6 hours of sun per day.
