Bruce -- Assuming you have 1) given them sufficient sun and drainage, 2)
planted them in soil they like, 3) fertilized sufficiently and 4) didn't
plant them too late or too deep, the answer may be, "just plain cussedness".
Although a few may fall into that last category, I'd look for the answer in
reasons 1-4. -- Griff
