    This is why professional writers have their work proofed by others and
why so many of us overlook typographical errors in our e-mail
ransmissions  --  because the eye sees what the brain anticipates, and the
writer's brain expects to see what he or she meant to write.  But the same
principle works in our favor  --  when our mind is used, either by habit or
by training, to look for certain things, we will see them when most others
