Does anyone have any info on this iris? I am just guessing it is
TB but it very well may be a Median.
CHERRY BERRY (A & D WILLOTT) R.2003 MTB Smooth red violet self; style arms purple midrib, edged chartreuse; beards yellow orange. Dunderman HH236 x unknown Willott 2003
I want it!!! I know Betty and Bill Coyle have been at Lauers for a while digging so I am guessing that Larry Lauer donated lots of those "bus prizes". Lots of post-convention work!!!
Rita Gormley Gormley Greenery Cedar Hill, MO AIS Region 18, Zone 5 www.gormleygreenery.com
The original intent was to send the "lucky 99" bus winners a donation from regional hybridizers. Thanks to the Willott's and the many others that donated their guests to the region there were others to send in special cases. An attempt was made to try to match donations to destinations. People in colder climes such as CO., MI., NH., NY., or Wi were sent the best cold hardy selections available. The Suttons rebloomers were sent to winners living in the best reblooming areas. Donations from hybridizers in the hot valley floor such as the Lauers, the Nicholsons, Joyce Ragle,Oscar Schick etc were sent to the warmer climes while donations from coastal hybridizers from Bonne Scott in Atascadero to the Cadd family in Santa Rosa as well as Superstition Iris in the Sierra Foothills were sent to winners in the more temperate locations. Larry Lauer was host for the return depot and assisted with all the shipping.
The last truckload of returns should be shipped out today. :-) :-)
A note for the gremlins page for future convention hosts. Before you award live plants check with your local Ag agent about shipping restrictions to certain states...
On another note almost two-thirds of guested hybidizers donated all their convention Rz's to the region. Almost every one donated at least part. Thanks to these generous people more than 15,000 Rz,s were distributed to the local societies for fund raisers and public promotions for the American Iris Society.
Cathy Campi and Michael Michaeli, Ackey Breakey everywhere.
