Re: HYB:Pink:out crosses

Pink must be in there somewhere, or it wouldn't give pink offspring:

MIDSUMMER'S EVE (Donald Spoon, R. 1997). BB, 27" (69 cm), ML & RE.
"S. and style arms pink; F. peach pink, darker veining; beards
tangerine; lightly ruffled, flared. Immortality X Enchanted World.
Winterberry 1999."

MY ANGEL'S SMILE (Bob Thomason 2000). TB. white, pale pink overlay.
Pink Song X Immortality.

However, crossed with C SONG (which is pink with purple added to falls),
out of nearly 60 seedlings here that survived to maturity from two pods,
none were pink. Too many doses of whatever makes IMM white?

Or did all the early germinants (i.e., pinks) get killed by erratic
freezes before they had a chance here? I made those crosses while I was
still working, before I started intensive climate controlled
germination.

Or is my BB pink Sdlng "pink18" that lost its label from that cross? If
it is, that's 1 in 60+ (unknown number that died).

It would be interesting to hear from Don & Bob how many of the siblings
were various colors.

AMY (grandparent of IMM) has produced several pink descendants.

For some reason, the online database isn't letting me find ENGLISH
COTTAGE this morning, so haven't checked that side of the family tree.

<Has IMMORTALITY ever produced any pink offspring? There is not a pink
iris in the nearest 4 generations of its recorded pedigree, and not even
a single ancestor expressing any carotenoid pigment closer than the
third generation back (REPLICATA, a yellow-ground plicata). Jeff
