Folders are not really a functionality of a program, like PhotoShop. It is a
functionality of the Windows operating system. Refer to "My Computer". My
Computer is the utility tool Windows gives you to view and manage the
structure of your computer storage system (the disk systems). And rather than
having one large folder (messy closet), you can set up folders within folders,
and more folders within folders. (just like your filing cabinet), so that you
organize all the files your store.
You can use "My Computer" to view all of your image files. Just double click
on any photo, and something like ACDCee will open up and allow you to browse
through all of your photos in the folder.
It just so happens, that all software programs use, and rely on, the Windows
file management (folders), to find, and store, all of your files.
