HYB: CULT: Worms in pods

Christian, the brown pod eating worm you described sounds much like a
cutworm. I lost several pod bearing stalks to them last year and the
year before, none this year; I don't know why. I also have to put
insecticide dust on my emerging seedlings, or they get eaten. The pupa
of the cutworm, however, is shiny, light brown and buried under the
surface of the ground. The adult is a plain gray moth.
