Betty,
I made 500 crosses this year and harvested 128 numbered pods. Among numbered
pods 8 had no seeds. So that makes the total numbered pods 120. Total seeds
from numbered pods 4,438, which averages at 33 seeds per pod.
I also harvested 35 Bee pods. Of the Bee pods only 7 contained seeds,
totaling 203 seeds, so average of 29 seeds/pod.
I guess that seems like a slightly lower average this year than 2006. Lowest
number of seed in a pod: 3; highest: 81, which seem like a normal spread. 8
pods with fewer than 10 seeds, 13 pods over 60 seeds.
I'm not sure if that's useful information... but it's data.

Anyone getting a general idea on the seed count this year? It seems
the average is running a bit low here. The percentage of takes was
down, too. Of course, compared to last year this is good!
