I've mentioned this before but I'll recap.

I'm working on a database using avery inexpecsive program from www.flowerstep.com. Pending AIS's approval I should have it ready by the end of the year. It creates pedigrees, granted in their most simplest form, back to grandparents. It does not take pedigrees forward but the AIS online database can do that and the spreadsheets mentioned below should be able to do that as well.

Along the way I'm creating a spreadsheets and sibling sheets in Excel that if translated into the correct program format will be searchable by simply typing in the name of a cultivar or sorting it based on various characters.

I'll also note that having gone through the majority of the AIS online database (E-Z so far) there are many errors (sdlg# formatting, cultivar spellings, and parentage). I am correcting them in my database along the way where I can by contacting the Hybridizers and making notes of the one's I can't. The Hybridizers should be submitting correction forms for the ones I've found. Keith Keppel and Paul Black can attest to how much of a pest I'm being.

My spread sheet is also incorporating information from various websites and compiling it all in to one place so that searching ofr someofthemostbasciinformation isn't some right of passage we must go through to find what we want.
