preventive solution

Hi there!

When I received some Iris rhizomes I discovered that some of them
was mouldy (moldy).
Have just cleaned it off with some washing-up liquid and a soft brush,
until now.

Does anyone have experierence of using Potassium permanganate solution
as a preventive agent against  miscellaneous diseases.
