OT: Transpanting Trillium

Sorry to be of topic but couldn't resist tapping into the vast store of
knowledge on this list.  What would be the best plan for transplanting
Trillium. Some folks in my area own some woodlands that is loaded with them
and offered me some plants need to know when would give the most success in
transplanting. What are their cultural requirements, pH, etc.

Zone 5, where we had only SDB bloom this year because the TB were rotted and
bored out last year. Borers are back, ugh.
