I have been buying small 2 or 3lb bags of them and I soak them
in a 5gal bucket, after they have started to brake down, I fill
another bucket 1/2 full of water and I start taking the mash out and
hand ring it to remove most water and dump it in the 2nd bucket.
When it is full, I place a board over it to keep flys out and I let
it soak for about a week. The 1st bucket of tea(?) gets put on many
of my plants that are in pots. After the 2nd bucket is done, I once
more ring out the mash and put it on a board to dry out in the sun.
The new tea is dumped around plants too. Once the mash is dry, I
spread it around my flower beds, on my lawn, where I feel it would
work best. It seems to keep the stray cats out of the flower beds
too.
