Aphids do work and we wouldn't have glowing iris descriptions without
them -- at least not in my garden. and I also have them in the house
all winter, or have had for the last two years. I catch them and into
the garden they go. My worst aphids are on the lupine -- not somuch on
the iris. S we are both blessed wit ladybugs.
