That's 'cause the larvae are the voracious aphid-eaters. When the colony=
is thriving, the young adults discover they have to move out in search o=

a better food supply almost as soon as they emerge from their pupae. =
A ladybug colony saves time, effort, and money -- but the gardener does
have to learn what the eggs, larvae, and pupae look like to protect them
