AIS Orders

I don't want to rehash all of my frustration with the AIS
BOD and Store as enough has been said against it. What I do
have to offer is possibly a ray of sunshine. A good and
trusted friend is in a local society with Nancy Pocklington
          - the new AIS store operator. He offers nothing but praise
for her enthusiasm, organizational skills, committment to
task, and boundless energy. He assures me that she will get
this problem squared away post haste! This is comforting
news from someone whose opinion I highly respect. I am told
that the current problem is that Ms Pocklington hasn't
received everything that she needs to start sending out
          orders (i.e. books,back orders, etc).

Someone said that AIS is a flower club, not a business. I
disagree with that. It is BOTH! The AIS BOD needs to wake
up and realize that if they sell items thru the mail and do
not promptly send the items or return the money that the US
Postal Regulations Act deems this mail fraul and does not
differentiate between a "business" and a "flower club". It
is still mail fraud - which is a federal offense!

Ms Pocklington is to be commended for volunteering step up
to the firing line and bail AIS out of this problem. I guess
the one question to be asked now is "Why is this a
"volunteer" position, and not a paid one?". We've witnessed
the effect this position can have on credibility and
confidence in AIS. Other important AIS positions which are
time consuming and very work intensive at least receive a
token renumeration for the amount for their volunteer
efforts. Why doesn't Sales, which generates revenue,
          receive the same consideration?

Just because a flurry of letters was not received by the AIS
BOD does not mean that they were unaware of the problem. Two
AIS Officers were active on Iris-l during the time with
several others lurking, as were several RVPs. AIS should be
thinking Iris-L for bringing this to their attention, not
condemning or ignoring us for complaining!

BillSmoot- standing by patiently with renewed hope that I'll
receive my AIS order, but who questions if we'd be able to
voice our complaints had AIS sponsored Iris-l...
