HYB: Beard Patterns

By "self" beard I meant that the beard is all one color, solid rather tha=

patterned. It may or may not match the color of the rest of the flower. =

But I do agree that solid, contrasting beards are eye-catching!!!

Other patterns include:

Graduated -- blending smoothly from one color in the heart of the flower =
to
another at the tip of the beard.

Mixed -- two different colors of beard hairs, each individual hair a soli=
d
color, but with the two colors intermingled apparently at random.

Layered -- each hair having two or more colors, all in the same pattern s=
o
that when the beard is viewed from the side it looks like a parfait.

Double -- "normal" beard flanked by secondary beard in contrasting color.=

Composite -- more than one pattern, like a mixture than includes layered
hairs.

So much for trying to keep it simple.....
